Technical specifications
In keeping with EU regulation 1360/2002 and ISO 16844, EFAS records the driving and rest periods of the driver, the distance traveled, vehicle speed and the availability of the co-driver.
Chip cards and an internal electronic memory serve to record the data. Special events such as speeding, missing or defective chip cards, attempts at manipulation, etc., are detected and recorded automatically. Driver activities are recorded over a time period of approx. 365 days.
The driver smartcard identifies the driver to the device and stores driver-related data. The display shows the driving status and any alerts. Six function keys enable time and location to be entered for the start and end of the journey. Driver activities can be printed out with the help of the EFAS internal printer or they can be read-out via the front-mounted interface.
EFAS has been developed to provide drivers with the greatest possible convenience. The speed of printing and read-out from the device has been optimized to avoid unnecessary waiting time for the driver and for the controllers.
The EFAS can optionally be fitted with an infra-red communications sensor to carry out checks without having to stop the vehicle. Easy for servicing, the printer unit pulls out at the front for quick and easy exchange without having to dismantle the device.
